Travel and Hotel InformationAir TransportationSalt Lake International Airport is just west of Salt Lake City and is about 40 miles north of American Fork. Rental cars are easy to get. Salt Lake International is a small hub of Delta Airlines, so you may want to consider Delta when making your flight reservations because they have the most flights. United, Southwest, and Continental also have a fair number of flights. Ground TransportationBecause of the large number of attendees and their varied arrival times, its not feasible for Hart to provide transportation for guests. We very strongly recommend you make arrangements for picking up a rental car at the airport. Though one of the hotels on our list is within walking distance of Hart, most are not. A rental car is a virtual necessity. Food, entertainment, and scenery are spread across the valley outside of walking distance. To get to Hart Scientific from the airport, follow our map or detailed driving instructions. Total drive time is about 45–60 minutes during normal driving conditions. HotelsThe following table lists three hotel options for your stay in Utah. Each of these hotels may give you a slight price break if you mention that youre coming to Hart Scientific for a seminar. There are, of course, many other hotels to choose from and youre more than welcome to pick any of them. You can find a list of hotels in the Salt Lake/Provo area at www.utah.com under "lodging." You must make your own hotel arrangements. None of these hotels guarantees a discount because you are coming to Hart. It varies with the season and room availability.
WeatherUnlike some parts of the world, we have four seasons in Utah. If youre coming between November and March, be prepared for very cold and possibly wet weather. October and April are hard to callsometimes its warm and sometimes its not. May and September are usually warm. June through August are generally very hot. At www.utah.com youll find the latest 5-day forecast for our area. As a general rule, however, the weather falls under those "acts of God" for which we assume no responsibilityeven in Utah. Events and EntertainmentUtah is renown for it mountains, canyons, and deserts and recreation enthusiasts are kept happy year round between winter sports, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and whitewater rafting. If you’re staying for an extra day or two, you may want to consider taking in a ball game, an art show, a movie, or a drive through the mountains. You can find information about all kinds of events in Utah at utah.citysearch.com and at www.utah.com. |
