Hart Scientific now offers free web seminars. These seminars are part of the Fluke Precision Measurement Webinar Series, a series of free seminars on topics of interest to calibration professionals.

The courses listed below range from the basic “Introduction to Temperature Calibration” to the more in-depth “Temperature Uncertainty Budgets and How to Use Them” and are offered several times throughout the year. Most courses are about ninety minutes in length.

Introduction to Temperature Calibration

In this seminar we’ll go over the key concepts behind temperature calibration. We’ll discuss three types of calibrations and the typical equipment used to perform them. These three types of calibrations we’ll discuss are primary, secondary and industrial temperature calibration.

RTD and Thermocouple Field Testing and Calibration

This seminar discusses field calibration techniques and equipment, including a method of implementing a portable temperature calibration program over the range 45 °C to 700 °C. The techniques and equipment covered in this seminar can be used for calibrating both RTDs and thermocouples.

Secondary Temperature Calibration Equipment Requirements and Financial Justification

Setting up a secondary temperature calibration process does not need to be complicated. This course describes a simple automated temperature calibration system over the range –80 °C to 300 °C, how to use it and how to justify it financially. Learn what factors you should consider, how to analyze them and present a compelling argument for management approval.

Are you ready to take on infrared temperature calibration? Find out what you need to know before you get started. Get the scoop on black bodies, grey bodies, emissivity, size of source effect and more. Learn about equipment requirements and the right way to perform a calibration.

Temperature Uncertainty Budgets and How to Use Them

Learn to read, use and assemble a temperature uncertainty budget. Find out how to meet metrological targets within financial budget constraints. We'll talk about uncertainties related to temperature sensors, indicators and sources, how to evaluate them and how to combine them.
