Software Download and Installation
Instructions |
Use the Print button on your browser to print this document.
To download Hart software, demo software, service releases,
etc. follow the instructions given below:
Downloading:
-
It is recommended that a folder or directory be created on your hard
drive for the file(s) to be downloaded.
-
Select the file(s) to download on the Demos,
Updates, Service Releases, etc. page.
-
Save the file(s) to the directory you created in step 1.
Extracting:
-
Most of the software files that can be downloaded from
our web
site are either self-extracting .ZIP files or self-extracting setup
files. Using Windows® Explorer, select the directory to which the file(s) were downloaded.
-
For self-extracting .ZIP files, run the .EXE file by double-clicking it.
The WinZip® Self-Extractor
dialog appears. Use the default path in the "Unzip to Folder:" option.
This causes a
sub-directory to be created in the current directory and is named accordingly. You may
change the path if desired. Click the Unzip button. All necessary files for installation will be
extracted to the specified path.
Installing:
-
If the downloaded software needs to be installed, there will
typically be a file
called SETUP.EXE in the directory where the files were extracted. Double-clicking on this
file will run the setup program and install the software. Follow the on-screen
instructions to complete the installation.
-
If there is no SETUP.EXE or other .EXE file, there will be a README.TXT file in the
directory or folder where the files were extracted. Open this file with a text editor such
as NOTEPAD for instructions on how to successfully complete the installation process.
